Alumni Player to Fury Coach

Volleyball has been a part of my life for five years. Throughout the years of my volleyball career, I have been through many ups and downs. I have OCD, depression, and anxiety. Without the support of my loving family and friends, I would not be here today. Dave has played a huge role in helping me with my mental health, by being himself and doing what he loves to do. I was at a very rough point about two years ago and last year. Dave and the Volleyball family have always been there to help me. Dave Davis has always been there to encourage and support all athletes. I have been with Fury for three years, with Dave as my coach. I could not be any more proud and lucky to be a part of that family.

I can remember having one of my first panic attacks on my way to an away volleyball tournament. I was playing 16U Fury at the time.  I always got anxious going away places and staying without my family

I was always so nervous that people would not understand and would think it was childish. However, I could not have been more wrong. The Fury Volleyball club is a family and they are always there to support you. That year I was probably at one of my lowest points for my mental health but with the help of my teammates, I was able to push through it and take it one day at a time.

Dave has taught us many lessons; to never give up and to always put 100% of all you have into what you love and want to accomplish. Another phrase Dave is famous for saying is “walk away with memories, not regrets”. This phrase has stuck with me throughout the whole time.

The environment that has been created in the Fury Volleyball club has played a huge part of my life and I could not be more grateful for this environment and the people in it. Out of all the amazing people, I have come across during my volleyball career, the person that has helped shape me and push me to be my best while supporting me has been Dave Davis. I could not think of a more qualified and big-hearted person to be an instrumental part of the Fury Volleyball club and to be the head coach of the Lockview Volleyball team. He has truly changed my life and I do not think I would be here today without all of his support and dedication.
